Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on the 18th of November 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was evident from the moment she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial trial she took the sport, she finished second in 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix graduated from high school signing a professional contract with the sports company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 secs. In 2005, she was the world's youngest champion in 200 meters during the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, defeating her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top three in all of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
